Via Kosciusko-Attala Career Tech Center instructor and Future Farmers of America (FFA) sponsor Kenneth Georgia:
FFA students recently participated in a beautification project at Heaven is my Goal Outreach Ministries in McAdams. When approached by Evangelist Martha Jones with the idea, the chapter was delighted to help someone they knew so well. Some students knew her from the school cafeteria, some belonged to the outreach ministry, and a few of the pupils were family members. Mr. Georgia noted, “It’s always special to assist someone who is passionate about making an impact in the community, especially when it involves helping young people.”
Just as the FFA Motto states, “Doing to Learn,” students were involved in the entire landscaping process which included: classifying the soil type, calculating the amount of sunlight, selecting plant materials, drawing a design, and finally installing it. Project plant materials included: purple and pink dwarf azaleas, purple heart, hollies, monkey grass, purple verbena, and gold lantana. Students who participated included: Mark Stewart, D’Mechriea Landfair, Mc Carvin Carter, Ty’Derrius Davis, and Jayla Gibson from McAdams High School, plus Kosciusko High School students Kaelin Wright and Trey Johnson.
“Evangelist Vicky Roby and I work with our young people during Bible classes on Tuesday nights, and we have plans to begin hosting a youth night on Fridays”, said Pastor Jones. She invites everyone to visit them for regular service on Sunday evening beginning at 5 p.m. The church address is 5787 Attala Road 4045. Attal FFA was truly grateful to donate a few hours of their time to Marth Jones who has dedicated her entire life to serving others.
