When you or someone you love becomes sick, you want to get help for them right away. A long, anxiety-filled drive to another town, or even a long wait in an emergency room or a clinic, is the last thing you want.
Baptist Medical Center Attala, formerly Montfort Jones, has long been Attala County’s primary source of medical care. Our recent alliance with Baptist Health Systems in Jackson is a signal of our firm intent to remain right here in our town as our community’s trusted center for healthcare. Baptist Medical Center Attala was recently recognized as the “Best Place to Work”. The hard work and commitment of the hospital’s employees are what makes this recognition possible. Now, we are proud to announce the latest initiative in our ongoing commitment to meet the health needs of our citizens.
Baptist Medical Clinic Kosciusko, a family medicine clinic, will open its doors Monday, February 29, 2016. Newly renovated with comfortable waiting areas and well-equipped exam rooms, our hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Melinda Meachamp, CFNP, certified in family medicine, is the clinic provider. Conveniently located adjacent to the hospital and the ER, this clinic will treat patients aged two and older. Already, we are planning to extend the daily hours of operation and to add weekend hours in the coming months.
When we made the choice to partner with Baptist Health Systems in Jackson, it wasn’t a decision we made lightly. As Kosciusko’s only hospital, we believe we have been entrusted with the responsibility to safeguard the health of the people we live with and know. You are our neighbors we see at church, the grocery store, at school events and all around town.
It came with a great sense of satisfaction when we recognized that, in partnering with Baptist Health Systems, we would join forces with an organization that shares our values. Baptist’s mission, “. . . to provide the highest quality healthcare, guided by our Christian faith,” was the right match for what we’ve been about all along.
That’s why the Baptist name now is on our hospital, and why it will be on this new clinic that stands as the latest example of our commitment to you, the people of Kosciusko. We think our new clinic is going to add something truly special to our community. We’re planning an Open House soon, and we hope you will come out to see us. And if you need medical care, we’ll be here just like we’ve always been, but with a new clinic to better serve you.
